Vans - Do I need to travel as freight?
On Condor Ferries, all private-use vans exceeding 6.5m in length must be booked as freight. If commercial goods are being carried you must book as freight, regardless of the length. About Condor Ferries
Condor Ferries offer both conventional (ro-ro) and fast ferry freight services between the UK, Channel Islands and France. Please find a summary of these services below:
- Twice daily Ro-Ro service between Portsmouth, Guernsey and Jersey.
- Year round light freight fast ferry service between Weymouth, Channel Islands and St Malo.
- Daily summer (April-October) light freight fast ferry service between Poole and Channel Islands.
- Daily summer (May-September) light freight fast ferry service between Poole and St Malo.
- Weekend Ro-Ro service to the French port of St Malo.
Only smaller vans are able to travel on the fast ferry with larger freight vehicles carried on the conventional vessels.
To travel on the fast ferry from Weymouth or Poole vehicles must be no more 6.5m long, 3.1m high and the gross vehicle weight must not exceed 3.5 tonnes. All other vehicles should travel on the conventional ferry via Portsmouth.
