Vans - Do I need to travel as freight?
With Eurotunnel, all private use vans with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) exceeding 3.5 tonnes, must be booked as freight. If commercial goods are being carried you must book as freight regardless of the size. If you are carrying only private goods and the GVW is less than 3.5 tonnes, please visit our passenger website's Eurotunnel page. Please note: All box type vans must travel as freight.
About Eurotunnel Freight
Eurotunnel is the fast, convenient, and cost-effective way to transport freight between the UK and France. With frequent crossings, easily accessible terminals and the turn-up-and-go service Eurotunnel freight has become the vital link in many supply chains.
Both terminals are located adjacent to motorway networks, with a dedicated junction with the M20 at Folkestone and another with the A16 motorway at Calais, meaning a motorway to motorway time of just 90 minutes!
