About Fjord Line
Founded in 1993, Fjord Line started operating services between Norway and Denmark with the ship MS Bergen. In 1998 the company purchased the Newcastle - Bergen route from Colorline, along with the ship, Color Viking which was renamed MS Jupiter. On 3 April 2003, MS Fjord Norway was christened and put into operation and in the same year Haugesund became a new port of call for the company.
In 2005 due to stiff competition in the market, the company faced major challenges and in 2006 the England route and the ships Jupiter and Fjord Norway were sold.
2008 was the start of a successful new chapter when Fjord Line and Master Ferries merged and acquired HSC Fjord Cat. This was also the year when MS Bergen returned to Fjord Line and was renamed MS Bergensfjord.
Today, Fjordline operate three ships on their routes between Norway and Denmark. The passenger vessels, MS Bergensfjord and MS Stavangerfjord offers both passenger and freight services between Bergen, Stavanger and Hirtshals as well as on the Langesund-Hirtshals route. The express ferry, Fjord Cat, offers a passenger service between Kristiansand and Hirtshals during the summer season.
