Vans - Do I need to travel as freight?
With GLD Atlantique, all private use vans exceeding 7.5m in length must be booked as freight. If commercial goods are being carried you must book as freight, regardless of the length. About GLD Atlantique
GLD Atlantique is a subsidiary of Louis Dreyfus Armateurs Group which has been offering maritime transportation since 1904. Today, LDA has a fleet of over 60 ships operating around the globe.
Launched in September 2010, GLD Atlantique offers ro-pax services between Saint Nazaire's Montoir terminal in the Loire Atlantique & Gijón, in the Principality of Asturias, Spain. The 15 hour crossing saves a road journey of 1,000 kilometres.
With three weekly departures in each direction the service is operated by Norman Asturias. At 26,500 tons the vessel has 2,250 lane metres and can accommodate up to 120 freight units.
