About Isle of Man Steam Packet Company
Isle of Man Steam Packet Company began operations in 1830, making them the oldest continually operating passenger shipping company in the world. Today the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company offer services on the conventional ferry, Ben-My-Chree and the fast ferry, Manannan.
Ben-my-Chree operates throughout the year offering sailings between Heysham & Douglas on the Isle of Man, and a weekend service through the winter months between Liverpool & Douglas.
The fast craft, Manannan, offers a summer seasonal service between Liverpool & Douglas as well as sailings between Douglas & Dublin and Belfast. Freight is restricted on the fast ferry, the maximum vehicle length being 6.5m (vehicle and trailer 10m). Larger vehicles can, of course, travel on Ben-my-Chree.
