Vans - Do I need to travel as freight?
With Minoan Lines, all private use vans exceeding 5m in length must be booked as freight. If commercial goods are being carried you must book as freight, regardless of the length. About Minoan Lines
As part of the Grimaldi Group of companies, Minoan Lines has been serving the Adriatic for 35 years and currently operates a fleet of seven vessels. M/F Cruise Europa and M/F Cruise Olympia were built in 2009 and 2010 respectively and these huge 53,000 ton cruise-ferries usually serve the Patras - Ancona link. At nearly 37,000 tons, the twin cruise-ferries M/F Europa Palace and M/F Olympia Palace usually operate the link from Patras via Corfu to Venice.
There is a daily service in each direction between Patras and Ancona and the crossing time is 21 hours. The route between Patras and Venice sees up to four sailings per week in each direction with a crossing time of approximately 29 hours.
A daily service operates in each direction between Piraeus and Heraklion, the overnight crossing taking 7½ - 8 hours. The route is usually served by 37,000 ton twins M/F Knossos Palace and M/F Festos Palace.
